Abstract
Based on theoretical perspectives of Talk-in-Interaction in institutional contexts and on methods of Conversation Analysis, we are analyzing the discursive and interactional activity of reformulating in two workplaces: the classroom and the special court for consumer ́s matters. Reformulations are understood as definition, explanation, summary or abstract that one of the participants of an interaction provides from their own speech or from the other ́s speech. We observed two hearings and two classroom interaction taped in audio that the performance of the linguistic-discursive use of reformulations is related to the implementation of institutional mandates connected to these workplace ́s tasks: "doing agreement" in conciliation hearings and "doing learning" in the classroom.
