Um Passado Contemporâneo: as memórias do Instituto Superior de Educação Professor Aldo Muylaert (ISEPAM) – 1895 – 2024

Resumo
O presente trabalho se propôs a analisar o processo de reenquadramento da memória vinculada ao Instituto Superior de Educação Professor Aldo Muylaert (ISEPAM), localizado no município de Campos dos Goytacazes, interior do estado do Rio de Janeiro, e o modo como este adiciona as décadas de existência da antiga Escola Normal de Campos à narrativa oficial atual sobre sua história, no que diz respeito aos acontecimentos situados entre os anos de 1895 e 2024. Para tal objetivo, analisou-se o período de modificação do que chamamos neste trabalho de memória oficial, levando em conta os fatores contextuais e as fontes disponíveis, que se dividem em fontes orais, escritas documentais, visuais e materiais, obtidas através de entrevistas, do arquivo histórico do Instituto ou de mídias digitais. O texto inicia com a contextualização da história da formação de professores primários, a trajetória das escolas normais e dos institutos de educação, passando para a apresentação dos referenciais teóricos utilizados para refletir sobre passado, memória e identidade, e finaliza com a análise das múltiplas fontes utilizadas e como estas revelam variadas narrativas sobre o Instituto. O produto da dissertação propõe a criação de um acervo digital dos registros históricos salvaguardados pelo Centro de Memória do Instituto, impulsionando seu conhecimento pelo grande público e facilitando o acesso de pesquisadores e demais interessados a esse material. A partir das observações e estudos, foi possível concluir que houve alguns elementos que impulsionaram a reinterpretação e reescrita da memória do Instituto: a demanda pela abertura de um Centro de Memória na instituição; uma série de pesquisas acadêmicas que se debruçaram sobre o passado do Instituto e da Escola Normal; e o momento de crise identitária sentido pela instituição nas décadas de 2000 e 2010
his dissertation set out to analyze the process of reframing the memory linked to the Instituto Superior de Educação Professor Aldo Muylaert (ISEPAM), located in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes, in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro, and the way in which this adds the decades of existence of the former Escola Normal de Campos to the current official narrative about its history, with regard to events situated between the years 1895 and 2024. To this end, the period of modification of what we call official memory in this work was analyzed, taking into account contextual factors and available sources, which are divided into oral, written, documentary, visual and material sources, obtained through interviews, from the Institute’s historical archive or digital media. The text begins with the contextualization of the history of primary teacher training, the trajectory of normal schools and educational institutes, moving on to the presentation of the theoretical references used to reflect on the past, memory and identity, and ends with the analysis of multiple sources used and how they reveal varied narratives about the Institute. The product of the dissertation proposes the creation of a digital collection of historical records safeguarded by the Institute's Memory Center, boosting knowledge among the general public and facilitating access to this material for researchers and other interested parties. From the observations and studies, it was possible to conclude that there were some elements that drove the reinterpretation and rewriting of the Institute's memory: the demand for the opening of a Memory Center at the institution; a series of academic research that looked into the past of the Institute and the Escola Normal; and the moment of identity crisis felt by the institution in the 2000s and 2010s
