Museu Regional de Entomologia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa: uma proposta de institucionalização

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objeto de estudo o Museu Regional de Entomologia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa. Nosso principal objetivo é apontar os caminhos para o melhor desempenho deste espaço, propondo uma ação de institucionalização desse estabelecimento para torna-lo de fato uma instituição museal, em atendimento aos requisitos que o enquadre nessa categoria: seja uma instituição permanente, a serviço da sociedade e do seu desenvolvimento, aberta ao público, com visitação regular, que adquire, conserva, estuda, expõe e transmite o seu patrimônio, que é um patrimônio da humanidade, com objetivo educacional e de lazer, promovendo a preservação de uma memória cultural, histórica e científica. Para isso, realizamos um estudo dos aspectos funcionais e operacionais deste Museu, apontamento suas fraquezas e levantando seus pontos importantes de atuação. Além da apresentação do objeto de estudo, a pesquisa fundamentou-se na discussão de conceitos referentes à teoria museológica e ao patrimônio, na investigação histórica e documental (em arquivos do Museu e da UFV), observações in loco e entrevistas, realizada com o fundador e curador do Museu (na gestão entre os anos de 1975 a 2018), além de um estagiário. Apresentamos a UFV para que o leitor possa se situar no cenário histórico-espacial em que o Museu Regional de Entomologia teve sua origem e existe hoje, e fizemos uma breve apresentação das instituições museológicas da universidade. A partir das análises realizadas, elaboramos uma proposta de institucionalização do Museu Regional de Entomologia, a ser realizada por meio de duas ações: o Registro de Museus e o Plano Museológico, ambos obrigatórios e fundamentais para a sistematização do trabalho interno e melhor atuação dos museus na sociedade. Este trabalho nos oportunizou realizar uma investigação mais aprofundada a respeito do Museu Regional de Entomologia, com um conteúdo interdisciplinar que abrangeu tanto a História quanto a Entomologia, servindo como fonte de conhecimento e aprendizado para a prática da cidadania e o estabelecimento de um diálogo enriquecedor entre diferentes áreas de conhecimento e entre a sociedade e a comunidade científica.The present work has the Regional Museum of Entomology of the Federal University of Viçosa as study object. Our main objective is to point out the ways for the best performance of this space, proposing an institutionalization action of this establishment in order to make it a museum institution, in compliance with the requirements that fit it into this category: a permanent institution, at the service of society and its development, open to the public, with regular visitation, which acquires, conserves, studies, exhibits and transmits its patrimony, which is a patrimony of humanity, for educational and leisure purposes, promoting the preservation of a cultural, historical and scientific memory. For this, we performed a study of the functional and operational aspects of this Museum, pointing out its weaknesses and raising its important points of action. In addition to the presentation of the study object, the research was based on the concepts discussion related to museological theory and heritage, historical and documentary research (in archives of the Museum and UFV), in loco observations and interviews, carried out with the founder and curator of the Museum (in management from 1975 to 2018), as well as an intern. UFV was presented so that the reader can situate itself in the historical-spatial scenario in which the Regional Museum of Entomology had its origin and exists nowadays, besides we made a brief presentation of the university's museological institutions. Based on the analyzes carried out, a proposal for the institutionalization of the Regional Museum of Entomology was prepared to be performed through two actions: the Museum Registry and the Museological Plan, both mandatory and fundamental for the internal work systematization and better performance of museums in society. This work enabled us to accomplish a more detailed investigation of the Regional Museum of Entomology, with an interdisciplinary content that covered both History and Entomology, serving as a source of knowledge and learning for the practice of citizenship and the establishment of an enriching dialogue among different areas of knowledge and between society and the scientific community.
