Produção de cultivares de tomate em estufa coberta com plástico

Abstract

Com o objetivo de avaliar a produção e a qualidade dos frutos dos cultivares de tomate pluriloculares, Sunny e El-50, foi instalado experimento em ambientes protegido (estufa) e não-protegido. As produções total e comercial foram afetadas apenas pelo ambiente de cultivo. A produção comercial média dos cultivares (4.115 g/planta, correspondente a 18,1 kg/m^2), em ambiente protegido foi 141% maior que & obtida em cultivo não-protegido. Os frutos comerciais, na média dos dois cultivares, corresponderam a 94 e 71% da produção total em cultivo de estufa e de campo, respectivamente, sendo o ataque de alternária a principal causa de desclassificação dos frutos em condição não-protegida. Em ambos os am- bientes de cultivo, o cultivar Sunny apresentou fruto de peso médio inferior ao do cultivar EF-SO e produziu mais frutos por planta.

This experiment was carried out to evaluate the fruit yield and quality of tomato cultivars Sunny and EF-SO grown in the field and under greenhouse conditions. Total and marketable fruits yield were not affected by cultivars, but by growing conditions. In the greenhouse, as cultivar average, marketable fruit yielded 3151 g/plant, 141% higher than that obtained in the field. Marketable fruit yields, were 94% and 71% of the total yields in the greenhouse and fields conditions, respectively. Under greenhouse, Alternaria fungus in the fruit was the biggest reason to classify the fruit as unmarketable. Sunny produced higher fruit number with lower average weight than EF-SO in both growing conditions.
