The objective of this study was to verify the influence of substrates on the acclimatization of in vitro cultured “Prata” banana seedlings. The experiment was conducted under web at the Plant Sciences Department of Universidade Federal de Viçosa, MG. The treatments used were: Sl) forest topsoil + bovine dung + vermiculite; SZ) forest topsoil + bovine dung sugar cane filter-press mud; S3) humus + carbonized rice hull + sand; S4) forest topsoil + carbonized rice hull + vermiculite; SS) sugar cane filter press mud + wood coal slack + vermiculite, all in a rate of 2:l:l; and Só) sugar cane Hlter-p ress mud. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with six treatments and four replications, with four uselíll plants per plot. The vegetative characteristics and the contents of the macronutrients N, P, K, Ca and Mg were evaluated in root + rhizome and in shoot. Substrate composed of 50% forest tºpsoil, 25% bovine dung and 25% velmiculite provided the best seedling growth. The presence of 100, 50 and 25% sugar cane filter-press mud in the substrates Só, SS and S2, respectively, was harmHJl to the growth of the banana seedlings. The substrate S6 presented the lowest value in the evaluated vegetative characteristics. The K and P contents in roots + rhizome and shoot were in accordance with the content in the substrates.
