O dogma e a fé: práticas religiosas populares no catolicismo reformado

Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma pesquisa de Iniciação Científica, desenvolvida ao logo dos anos de 2019 e 2020 na Universidade Federal de Viçosa / Campus Florestal. O estudo teve como foco central as relações entre o catolicismo popular e os anseios da Reforma Ultramontana. Nos esforçamos em compreender como, em meio às propostas de silenciamento de práticas religiosas tradicionais, essas formas de manifestação da fé resistiram. Trabalhamos com um conjunto documental selecionado, composto por crônicas, cartas ânuas e fotos reunidas em livros organizados pela Congregação do Santíssimo Redentor. Para alcançarmos nossos propósitos, nos baseamos nos princípios teórico-metodológicos estabelecidos por Nicola Gasbarro, em que se diferencia a ortodoxia da ortoprática e considera que as normas existem, mas na prática elas são questionadas e podem ser alteradas, perdendo alguns dos seus pressupostos iniciais.This article aims to present a Scientific Initiation research, developed during the years 2019 and 2020 at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa / Campus Florestal. The study focused on the relations between popular Catholicism and the wishes for the Ultramontane Reformation. We strove to understand how, in the midst of proposals to silence traditional religious practices, these forms of manifestation of faith resisted. We have worked with a selected documentalset, composed of chronicles, anonymous letters and photos collected in books organized by the Congregaçãodo Santíssimo Redentor. To achieve our purposes, we based our workon the theoretical-methodological principles established by Nicola Gasbarro, in which orthodoxy is differentiated from "ortoprática" and considers that norms exist, but in practice they are questioned and can be altered, losing some of their initial assumptions.At the end of the research, we confirmed our initial hypothesis that, even though there were articulations by the Catholic Church to silence religious practices considered not sacramental and unorthodox, heterodox forms of faith manifestation in Reformed Catholicism survived.
