O entorno de bens tombados na atual dinâmica urbana de Caratinga – MG caso igrejinha São João e estação ferroviária (1997 a 2020)

Abstract

A presente pesquisa “O entorno de bens tombados na atual dinâmica urbana de Caratinga – MG - Caso igrejinha São João e Estação Ferroviária (1997 a 2020)”, discutiu a história de Caratinga sob a ótica do Patrimônio Cultural, em especialmente em relação à “igrejinha estação.” O estudo foi desenvolvido na perspectiva qualitativa, por meio de análise de documentos e entrevista. Foram analisadas as legislações municipais que norteiam a preservação do patrimônio cultural, bem como as questões urbanísticas de Caratinga. Também fizeram parte desse estudo: Dossiês de Tombamento, Plano de Inventário e jornais locais. As fontes foram em sua maioria encontradas no arquivo do Departamento de Patrimônio Cultural da Prefeitura de Caratinga e arquivo do Seminário Diocesano de Caratinga. As fotografias da década de 1930/1940 foram fontes fundamentais para compreender o desenvolvimento urbano da cidade e por meio delas, a pesquisa resultou em um produto final que será um audiovisual que ficará acessível à comunidade por meio de apresentações em escolas e lugares estratégicos. Stemming from the perspective of Cultural Heritage, this research discussed the history of Caratinga, Minas Gerais, especially regarding the “igrejinha estação” (Station’s Church). This is a qualitative-based study developed through document analysis and interviews. Municipal laws that guide the preservation of cultural heritage were analyzed, as well as urban affairs, in Caratinga. Also, this study is composed of Property Listing Reports, Inventory Plan, and local newspapers. The sources were mostly found in the archive of Caratinga’s Town Hall Department of Cultural Heritage and in the archive of the Diocesan Seminary of Caratinga. The photographs from the 1930s/1940s were vital sources to understand the urban development of the town and, through them, the research resulted in a final audiovisual product, which will be available to the community through presentations in schools and strategic places.
