Avaliação da capacidade de combinação de variedades de arroz tolerantes e sensíveis a toxidez de alumínio

Abstract

Objetivando estudar a capacidade de combinação de variedades de arroz, foram avaliados três progenitores tolerantes (Guarani, Guaporé e IAC 25) e três sensíveis (CNA 5600, CNA 5615 e IAC 899) à toxidez de alumínio e seus respectivos cruzamentos F1s em um sistema de cruzamento dialélico de meia-tabela, na concentração de 20 ppm de alumínio em solução nutritiva. Os resultados encontrados evidenciaram que, para o caráter comprimento da raiz, principal indicador da tolerância à toxidez de alumínio em arroz, foram mais importantes os efeitos da capacidade geral de combinação, evidenciando maior variabilidade genética aditiva. Os progenitores Guarani, IAC 25 e Guaporé apresentaram os maiores efeitos positivos da capacidade geral de combinação para todos os caracteres estudados.

Aiming at studying the combining ability of rice varieties, three progenitors known to be tolerant to aluminum toxicity (Guarani, Guaporé and IAC 25) and other three known to be sensitive (CNA 5600, CNA 5615 and IAC 899), along with their respective F1s crosses obtained in a half-table dialelic crossing system, were evaluated in nutrient solution at an aluminum concentration of 20 ppm. The results indicated that, for root length, which is the main indicator of tolerance to aluminum toxicity in rice, the effects of the general combining ability were the most important, showing the occurrence of a higher additive genetic variability. Guarani, IAC 25 and Guaporé exhibited the greatest positive effects of the general combining ability for all studied traits.
