Para além da zona cinzenta entre o erotismo e a pornografia: uma análise das representações sociodiscursivas da sexualidade em Cinquenta Tons de Cinza

Abstract

O presente trabalho analisa como o romance Cinquenta Tons de Cinza constrói, no plano discursivo, representações sociodiscursivas da sexualidade verbalizada na narrativa, com atenção aos indícios de violência verbal nas interações entre os personagens Anastasia Steele e Christian Grey. Inserida no campo da Análise do Discurso, utilizou-se a Teoria Semiolinguística, de Patrick Charaudeau, como referencial teórico-metodológico, no qual se articulam posições enunciativas, valores e saberes partilhados. A pesquisa descreve o percurso metodológico de constituição do corpus, composto por 54 trechos do romance, reunidos e numerados em Anexo, a fim de observar a organização do dizer por meio de categorias como sujeitos do ato de linguagem, contrato de comunicação, modos de organização do discurso e efeitos de mise em scène, com atenção às particularidades da enunciação em textos predominantemente narrativos. A análise evidencia a recorrência de estratégias de interpelação, avaliação e definição de regras e limites na troca, que configuram uma forma particular de colocar em cena a sexualidade no romance e de orientar a interpretação do leitor sobre consentimento, desejo e intimidade. Observa-se que a obra articula explicitude e romantização, ao mesmo tempo em que contribui para atualizar representações do BDSM e da sexualidade, inclusive quando determinados enunciados permitem leituras compatíveis com a hipótese de violência verbal no interior da encenação narrativa. Palavras-chave: teoria semiolinguística; BDSM; violência verbal.This study analyzes how the novel Fifty Shades of Grey constructs, at the discursive level, sociodiscursive representations of sexuality verbalized in the narrative, with particular attention to indications of verbal violence in the interactions between the characters Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Situated within the field of Discourse Analysis, the research adopts Patrick Charaudeau’s Semiolinguistic Theory as its theoretical–methodological framework, through which enunciative positions, values, and shared forms of knowledge are articulated. The study describes the methodological process used to constitute the corpus, composed of 54 excerpts from the novel, compiled and numbered in the Appendix, in order to examine the organization of discourse through categories such as the subjects of the speech act, the communication contract, modes of discourse organization, and the effects of mise en scène, with particular attention to the specificities of enunciation in predominantly narrative texts. The analysis reveals the recurrence of strategies of interpellation, evaluation, and the establishment of rules and limits within the exchange, which configure a particular way of staging sexuality in the novel and of guiding the reader’s interpretation regarding consent, desire, and intimacy. The findings suggest that the work articulates explicitness and romanticization, while also contributing to the updating of representations of BDSM and sexuality, particularly when certain utterances allow readings compatible with the hypothesis of verbal violence within the narrative staging.
