O livro didático de Geografia

Abstract

A obra intitulada "O livro didático de geografia e os desafios da docência para aprendizagem" resulta da colaboração entre diversos geógrafos e professores de geografia. Em seu escopo encontra-se uma série de artigos referentes ao Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) e o processo de avaliação das coleções didáticas, enfocando, logicamente, o conteúdo-forma dos livros didáticos de geografia, que são disponibilizados às instituições de ensino brasileiras. Não obstante, discute-se o fato de o livro didático colocar-se enquanto um obstáculo a autonomia dos professores da educação básica, ao passo em que, muitas vezes, apresenta-se como o único recurso didático acessível para esses sujeitos. Em suma, o texto é rico em informações, problematizações e soluções a curto prazo, já que apresenta alternativas complementares ao livro didático, logo, é leitura obrigatória para os licenciandos em geografia e os professores inseridos no contexto das escolas públicas brasileiras.The book named "The geography textbook and the challenges of teaching for learning" is the product of collaboration between several geographers and geography teachers. The scope of the work includes a series of articles referring to the "Programa Nacional do Livro Didático'' (PNLD) and the evaluation process of the didactic collections, focusing, logically, the content and form of geography textbooks available to the institutions of basic education in Brazil. Beyond that, it is discussed the fact that the textbook is an obstacle to teaching autonomy, although, generally, it is presented as the only teaching resource accessible to these teachers. In short, the text is rich in information, problematizations and short-term solutions, because it presents alternative methods and resources capable of complementing the textbook, therefore, it is a obligatory reading for graduating students of geography and teachers inserted in the context of public schools in Brazil.
