Abstract
This article aimed to defend the need to implement anti-racist education in everyday school life. We believe that everyday school life is an inventive space and that the curricula practiced in it sometimes escapesthe dominant logic present in our society. We are theoretically based on the social constructionist perspective, on discussions about colonization and decolonization of thought, as well as on authors who discuss everyday life and the curriculum as a political, cultural and social experience, in a field of dispute where countless possibilities echo. Among them there are discussions about racism. We consider, in the light of an experience that took place with a child, in 2015, during a teaching internship in a peripheral school in the city of Viçosa, in the state of Minas Gerais, that anti-racist interventions in “informal” situations can be allies in the fight against racism in everyday school life, however, we do not discard the urgency of an anti-racist curriculum in schools.
