No front da memória: as batalhas pelos espólios da segunda guerra mundial em Belo Horizonte (1945-2020)

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende analisar a constituição das narrativas dos veteranos da FEB, ex-combatentes do litoral e descendentes dos soldados que realizaram missões na Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939-1945). O escopo da pesquisa ficará restrito, em especial, às coletividades que formaram uma rede de sociabilidade em torno do simbolismo e da memória da participação do Brasil nesse conflito na cidade de Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais). Pretende-se compreender os discursos memoriais que foram construídos em meio à fundação e consolidação das associações de ex-combatentes na capital mineira. Assim, também se buscará elucidar como a Associação de Ex-Combatentes do Brasil (AECB) e a Associação Nacional da Força Expedicionária Brasileira (ANVFEB) construíram seus projetos institucionais, suas respectivas expressões públicas e as lutas pela memória que realizaram desde o fim do conflito. O trabalho estará ancorado na bibliografia sobre a reintegração social e a memória dos veteranos. Além disso, será baseado na análise de fontes escritas: periódicos; memórias publicadas; atas de reuniões de associações associativas; a legislação sobre os ex- combatentes; declarações orais. This work intends to analyze the constitution of narratives of FEB veterans, ex-combatants from the coast, army and descendants of soldiers who carried out missions in World War II (1939-1945). The focus of this rechearch wil be limited to these collectives whom form a network of sociability around the symbolism and the memory of Brazil's participation in this conflict in the city of Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais). It is intended to understand the memorial speeches that were built in the midst of the foundation and consolidation of associations of ex-combatants in the capital of Minas Gerais. Thus, we will seek to understand how the Association of Ex-Combatants of Brazil (AECB) and the National Association of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (ANVFEB) built their institutional projects, their respective public expressions and the struggles for memory that they carried out since the ending of the conflict. The work will be anchored in the bibliography on social reintegration and in veterans' memory. In addition, it will be based on the analysis of written sources: journals; published memories; minutes of meetings of associative associations; ex-combatant legislation, oral statements.
