A crítica à democracia liberal no imaginário social brasileiro

Abstract

A atenção voltada para o pensamento social brasileiro tem procurado mapear a existência de famílias intelectuais que o estruturam. Por um lado, identificamos no liberalismo atual uma continuidade entre o programa de pesquisa que defende a democracia liberal e a adoção do liberalismo econômico para consolidação do seu projeto. Por outro lado, encontramos argumentos do pensamento conservador que atribui ao Estado o desenvolvimento da política, enfatizando a autoridade sobre a liberdade. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma crítica à democracia liberal a partir da singularidade do caso brasileiro, marcado por uma sociabilidade distante do individualismo anglo-saxônico, carente de intervenções na conciliação com ideais modernos.

The attention towards the Brazilian social thinking have searched for mapping the existence of intellectual families which structure it. On one side, we identify in the actual liberalism some continuity between the research program which defends the liberal democracy and the adoption of the economical liberalism to the consolidation of its project. On the other hand, we find arguments of the conservative thinking which confer to the Estate the development of the politics, emphasizing the authority over the freedom. The aim of this article is to criticize the liberal democracy from the singularity of the Brazilian case, marked by a sociability far from the Anglo-Saxon individualism, lacking of interventions in the conciliation with the modern ideals.
