Continuidades e descontinuidades da memória: um estudo sobre a Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinária de Viçosa (MG) por meio de publicações de 1939 a 2016

Abstract

Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida a partir da problemática central de conhecer as memórias oficiais da Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinária – primeira fase da atualmente conhecida Universidade Federal de Viçosa – e entender as intenções e estratégias dos usos das mesmas pela própria instituição. Especificamente, buscou-se conhecer as memórias oficiais da Escola e como elas se relacionam entre si, tanto se reforçando e se complementando quanto conflitando ao se reapropriarem do passado, bem como entender a lógica de seleção dos conteúdos dessas memórias oficiais à luz da história da instituição, de contextos históricos mais gerais e de um arcabouço teórico relacionado ao tema. Procurando, ainda, atender à exigência dos programas de mestrado profissional, ao final é proposto um projeto de expansão do programa de vídeos Memória Viva, da Universidade, com a finalidade de contribuir para o levantamento, registro, organização, disponibilização em formato de acervo e difusão das memórias sobre a instituição, além de permitir que a própria Universidade reflita sobre e trate esse tipo de informação de maneira multidisciplinar e que novos estudos e iniciativas relacionadas a elas sejam desenvolvidos.This research was developed from the central problematic of knowing the official memories of the School of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine - the first phase of the now known Federal University of Viçosa - and to understand the intentions and strategies of the uses of the same ones by the own institution. Specifically, we sought to know the official memories of the School and how they relate to each other, both reinforcing and complementing each other as well as conflicting when they reappropriate the past, as well as understand the logic of selecting the contents of these official memories in the light of history of the institution, of more general historical contexts, as well as of a theoretical framework. Knowing also the demand of professional master's programs - through which the masters practice the subjects studied in order to meet the demands of their professional markets and, consequently, of society -, it is also proposed an expansion project of the video program Memória Viva, of the University, with the purpose of contributing to the collection, registration, organization, provision in a collection format and dissemination of memories about the institution, as well as allowing the University itself to reflect and treat this type of information in a multidisciplinary way and that new studies and initiatives related to them are developed.
