Superação da dormência tegumentar em sementes de Brachiaria decumbens Stapf.

Abstract

O presente trabalho objetivou estudar. os efeitos de diferentes métodos de escarificação do tegumento na quebra da dormência de sementes de Brachiaria decumbens, As sementes foram submetidas a escarificações química,mecânica e térmica durante diferentes períodos de tempo. Concluiu-se que os três métodos empregados foram capazes de quebrar a dormência das sementes desta espécie, entretanto o método mecânico foi mais eficiente.The purpose of this work was to study the effects of different kinds of scariflcation on the hardseededness of Brachiaria decumbens. The seeds were submitted to chemical, mechanical, and thermical scariflcations during differentperiods of time. It was concluded that the three methods employed were capable of overcoming the hardseededness of this species; however, the mechanical method was the most efficient.
