Análise dos efeitos da atuação religiosa no cotidiano prisional e na reinserção dos detentos a partir da experiência da APAC, Viçosa-MG

Abstract

A Associação de Proteção e Assistência aos Condenados (APAC) é uma entidade jurídica e social sem fins lucrativos, cujo objetivo principal é a proteção do preso e da sociedade civil organizada. Essa entidade foi criada com a premissa de que o sistema penitenciário comum não é o local adequado para a recuperação dos presos, uma vez que é permeado pela ociosidade e por atitudes e falas violentas, o que não colabora para a construção de uma perspectiva de mudança tanto para o preso quanto para a sociedade na qual ele retornará após o cumprimento da pena. Entre seus princípios metodológicos, a APAC utiliza a assistência religiosa como um mecanismo para auxiliar na ressocialização do condenado. Tendo isso em vista, o objetivo da pesquisa foi analisar os efeitos das atividades religiosas desenvolvidas pela APAC de Viçosa- MG no cotidiano prisional para a recuperação e reinserção social dos detentos. Para responder aos objetivos propostos e alcançar os resultados deste estudo, foi feita uma combinação de três métodos de pesquisa: o uso de dados secundários, a observação participante e as entrevistas. Esses métodos possibilitaram uma investigação mais direta, elucidando as questões referentes à aplicação da religião no processo de reintegração na sociedade dos recuperandos. Como resultado, obteve-se a discussão acerca das atividades religiosas utilizadas na APAC de Viçosa- MG, a qual utiliza a valorização humana como base para todos os seus doze elementos de trabalho, tendo um maior enfoque em seu elemento 4, que versa sobre a espiritualidade. Nos resultados, foi discutido, em primeiro momento, sobre a caracterização estrutural da APAC viçosense, em que foram abordadas as divisões estruturais do espaço, a representatividade de objetos para recuperandos e o quadro de funcionários da instituição. Em sequência, foi debatida a utilização dos doze elementos como forma de recuperação e reinserção social dos recuperandos da APAC de Viçosa-MG, demonstrando como a instituição visualiza cada método. Por fim, foi discutida a visão dos recuperandos acerca do elemento espiritualidade, concluindo que ele é importante para a proposta da religião, mas, para que tenha êxito, necessita que os outros onze elementos estejam funcionando com excelência. Ressocialização.The Associations for the Protection and Assistance of Convicts (APAC) is a non-profit legal and social entity whose main objective is the protection of prisoners and organized civil society. These entities were created with the premise that the common penitentiary system is not the appropriate place for the recovery of prisoners, since it is permeated by idleness, violent attitudes and speeches, without constituting a perspective of change both for the prisoner, and for the society to which he will return after serving his sentence. Within its methodological principles, it uses Religious Assistance as a mechanism to assist in the rehabilitation of the convict. The objective of the research was to analyze the effects of the religious activities developed by APAC of Viçosa-MG in the prison routine for the recovery and social reintegration of the inmates. To respond to the proposed objectives and achieve the results of this study, a combination of three research methods was performed: the use of secondary data, participant observation and interviews. These methods made a more direct investigation possible, clarifying questions regarding the application of religion in the process of reintegration into society for those recovering. As a result, we obtained a discussion about the religious activities used in the APAC of Viçosa-MG, in which human valorization is used as the basis for all of its 12 work elements, with a greater focus on its element 4, which deals with the spirituality. In the results, the structural characterization of the APAC in Viçosa was first discussed, where the structural divisions of space, the representativeness of objects for recovering persons and the institution's staff were discussed. In sequence, the use of the twelve elements was discussed as a way of recovering and social reintegration of those recovering from APAC in Viçosa, MG, demonstrating how the institution visualizes each method. Finally, the view of the inmates regarding the spirituality element was discussed, concluding that the element is important for the proposal of religion, but, for it to be successful, it needs that the other eleven elements are working with excellence.
