Preventive health is essential for the sustainability of the healthcare system and the overall quality of life of the population. It promotes healthy habits, prevents diseases, and detects them at an early stage, thereby reducing the need for more expensive treatments. However, challenges such as scheduling organization, long waiting times, and social determinants of health persist. For women, there are additional challenges, including gender and racial inequalities, lack of information, violence, mental health issues, and cultural traditions. International literature suggests that health insurance coverage can reduce financial, logistical, and awareness barriers, thus facilitating access to preventive healthcare services. This study investigates the impact of health insurance ownership on women's demand for preventive healthcare services in Brazil, using data from the 2019 National Health Survey (PNS). The analysis takes into account demographic and socioeconomic variables, as well as the number of healthcare facilities per state, employing Logistic Regression and Multilevel Logistic Regression models. The results indicate that having health insurance increases the likelihood of women utilizing primary preventive healthcare services by 53.3% and secondary preventive healthcare services by 42%. Women from the Southeast have the highest demand for these services, followed by those from the South, due to better health infrastructure and greater access to health insurance. Consequently, the study highlights the importance of public awareness campaigns about preventive health and the need to equalize the availability of public healthcare services across different regions, while also reinforcing the role of the Family Health Strategy, the main resource for primary health care in Brazil, in improving the quality and equity of access to preventive health services. Keywords: Preventive Healthcare Services. Women's Demand. Health Insurance. Brazil.
