Resumo
A inovação tecnológica promove o desenvolvimento
validar informações acerca da produção tecnológica do mercado
pretendido.
Technological innovation promotes the development of organizations, societies and countries, from an unstable and competitive environment, and, therefore, it requires tools and methods to enable the development of technologies with potential marketing. Therefore, the aim of this study was to carry out the technological monitoring of one technology of Viçosa Federal University Universidade Federal de Viçosa, through the analysis of patents competitors, in order to obtain and analyze information about the study area. Methodologically, the research is qualitative and descriptive, the type desk research and based on secondary data, collected on Thompson Innovation database. To collect the data, a search strategy, consisting of combined words, operators and specific search terms related to the UFV's technology, referring to a diagnostic kit for the detection of leishmaniosis, was used. As a result, we identified 43 patents competitors belonging to 29 holders, and an instability of deposits per year, being 2009 the year of highest incidence with six requests, and the United States as the largest number of requests, with 17 orders. 75.86 % of who requested have a juridical character, being most of them companies and universities of public service. Regarding Brazilian requesters, the public sphere was the main agent in this area, once that of four depositors, one is a mixed capital company and three are public universities. Therefore, the technological monitoring is a tool to assist the management of technologies because is a consistent tool to collect, analyze and validate information about the production of the intended market.
