Educação em direitos humanos: uma tarefa possível e necessária

Abstract

Os direitos humanos são direitos históricos que resultam da com- preensão da pessoa e dos fatores sociais, econômicos e políticos de cada época, tendo-se como cerne destes a dignidade da pessoa humana. Concentra-se na proteção e aplicação prática desses direitos a despeito da sua conceituação e justificativa. Posteriormente à consolidação legislativa já feita, busca-se a prática para a realização efetiva dos direitos humanos, ficando evidente o papel da educação nesse processo. O direito à educação é ferramenta para o crescimento pessoal, colocando-se enquanto direito humano posto que compõe a dignidade humana e torna o individuo capaz de atuar como cidadão. Por meio da evolução da aplicação dos Direitos Humanos e análise de documentos normativos conclui-se que a educação em direitos humanos é instrumento da construção da consciência da dignidade pelo reconhecimento da alteridade, do fortalecimento da cidadania e da mudança social.The human rights as resulting from the historical understanding of the person, just as the social, economic and political systems of each epoch and are the kernel of the mankind’s dignity. We must concentrate on protecting and practical application of these rights regardless of their conceptualization and justification. After the legislative consolidation already done, we try to practice for the effective realization of human rights, thus demonstrating the role of education in this process. The right to education is a way for personal growth, and it’s a human right that makes up the human dignity and makes the individual able to act as a citizen. Through the development of the Human Right’s implementation and analysis of normative documents it is concluded that human rights education is an instrument of building dignity spirit of the otherness recognition, of strengthening citizenship and social change.
