Abstract
O trabalho analisa a demanda da política de assentamentos rurais no município de Descalvado-SP como parte do processo de construção de novas identidades sociais e a partir dos espaços de mediação política. O objetivo geral foi compreender os processos de construção da identidade social de “sem terra” e a demanda por terra nesse município. A metodologia para coleta de dados incluiu a observação participante nas reuniões do movimento social no município e entrevistas semi-estruturadas com os trabalhadores rurais envolvidos com o processo, bem como com a liderança local do movimento. Os resultados evidenciam que os atores inseridos precariamente nos circuitos de valorização do capital são portadores de afinidades socioculturais e que quando estabelecem redes de articulação social entre eles e os movimentos sociais, constroem estratégias de ação coletiva para a intervenção do Estado em situações de conflito por território.
The work analyzes the demand of rural settlement policy in the municipality of Descalvado-SP as part of the reconstruction of social identities and from spaces of political mediation. The general objective was to understand the process of construction of social identity of “landless” and demand for land that municipality. The methodology for data collection included participant observation at meetings of the social movement in the city and semi structured interviews with rural workers involved in the process, as well as with local lead movement. The results show that actors precariously placed in the circuits of the capital have sociocultural affinities and that when they establish social networks articulation between them and the social movement, build collective action strategies for government intervention in conflict over territory.
