Abstract

O processo de internacionalização no ensino superior tem adquirido crescente relevância na contemporaneidade, sendo essencial para a inserção de instituições acadêmicas em redes globais de conhecimento e para o fortalecimento da memória coletiva relacionada a essas iniciativas. Neste contexto, a presente investigação propõe uma análise do extinto Jornal da UFV, no período de 1992 a 2013, com ênfase nas estratégias de representação e divulgação das ações de internacionalização da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, ao longo de sua trajetória. O estudo busca não apenas examinar a relevância desse veículo midiático na constituição da memória da UFV. A escolha do Jornal da UFV justifica-se por seu papel como instrumento de comunicação oficial da Universidade, que se aproxima do marco de cem anos de existência, sendo reconhecida por seus esforços de expansão e cooperação internacional. Assim, a pesquisa visa a contribuir para a valorização da memória coletiva e individual vinculada ao processo de internacionalização, destacando sua importância na construção da identidade universitária e no fortalecimento do papel da Universidade no cenário global. UFV.The process of internationalization in higher education has gained increasing relevance in con-temporary times, being essential for the insertion of academic institutions in global knowledge networks and for strengthening the collective memory related to these initiatives. In this con-text, this research proposes an analysis of the now defunct Jornal da UFV, from 1992 to 2013, with an emphasis on the strategies of representation and dissemination of the interna-tionalization actions of the Federal University of Viçosa throughout its history. The study seeks not only to examine the relevance of this media outlet in the constitution of the memory of UFV. The choice of the Jornal da UFV is justified by its role as an official communication instrument of the university, which is approaching the milestone of one hundred years of ex- istence, being recognized for its efforts of expansion and international cooperation. Thus, the research aims to contribute to the valorization of the collective and individual memory linked to the internationalization process, highlighting its importance in the construction of the uni-versity identity and in strengthening the role of the university in the global scenario.
