O futsal brasileiro no cenário esportivo internacional

Abstract

INTRODUÇÃO: O futsal é uma modalidade esportiva que vem apresentando uma grande expansão internacional nas últimas décadas. Inclusive alguns países sem tradição em esportes coletivos passaram a fomentar a modalidade e rapidamente conseguiram a classificação para o último Campeonato Mundial (Futsal World Cup Colômbia - 2016). Este artigo buscar dialogar sobre essa rápida expansão. OBJETIVO: Destacar a importância dos jogadores brasileiros no futsal internacional. METODOLOGIA: Os dados analisados foram obtidos em fontes midiáticas, artigos e no site oficial da Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Estes dados (número de atletas, origem e classificação das equipes) estão relacionados aos mundiais de futsal organizados pela entidade entre os anos 1989 até 2016. RESULTADOS: Ao longo dos anos, oito países presentes nas primeiras colocações inscreveram jogadores de origem brasileira em suas equipes. Nos últimos quatro mundiais (2004, 2008, 2012 e 2016) vários jogadores brasileiros representaram outros países, 13, 23, 16 e 22, respectivamente. Em 2008, no evento realizado no Brasil, houve o recorde de brasileiros naturalizados defendendo outras seleções (23 em sete equipes). Países que não apresentam tradições na modalidade (Sibéria, Catar, Georgia, Kuwait, Azerbaijão, entre outros) passaram a formar seleções competitivas através do processo de naturalização dos atletas. CONCLUSÃO: Existe uma grande influência dos jogadores brasileiros no futsal internacional. As seleções que possuem atletas brasileiros naturalizados estão entre as melhores do mundo e representam a maioria das equipes nas três primeiras colocações nos mundiais, além do fato de os jogadores brasileiros naturalizados serem os destaques nas seleções que defendem.INTRODUCTION: Futsal is a sport that has been expanding internationally in recent decades. This article seeks to discuss about this rapid expansion. OBJECTIVE: Highlight the importance of Brazilian players in international futsal. METHODOLOGY: The analyzed data were obtained from media sources, articles and on the official website of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). These data (number of athletes, origin and classification of the teams) are related to the futsal world championships organized by the entity from 1989 to 2016. RESULTS: Over the years, eight countries present in the first places registered players of Brazilian origin in their teams. In the last four world championships (2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016) several Brazilian players represented other countries, 13, 23, 16 and 22, respectively. In 2008, at the event held in Brazil, there was a record of naturalized Brazilians defending other teams (23 in seven teams). Countries that do not have traditions in the sport (Siberia, Qatar, Georgia, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, among others) start to form competitive national teams through the process of naturalization of athletes. CONCLUSION: There is a great influence of Brazilian players in international futsal. The national teams with naturalized Brazilian athletes are among the best in the world and represent the most of the teams in the first three places in the world championships, in addition to the fact that Brazilian naturalized players are the highlights in the national teams they defend.
