Efeito da idade relativa: uma revisão narrativa

Abstract

As diferenças de idade cronológica dentro de um mesmo grupo etário são chamadas de idade relativa, e as suas consequências, de Efeito da Idade Relativa. Sabe-se que a maturação, a competição e os agentes sociais são imprescindíveis para o Efeito da Idade Relativa. O estudo objetivou analisar os fatores norteadores do Efeito da Idade Relativa. Os fatores biológico, técnico, tático, psicológico, cognitivo e sociais influenciam diretamente na existência do efeito. Entretanto, se o fator necessário, também nomeado “competição”, o efeito pode não existir. Dessa forma, tudo indica que uma possível solução esteja relacionada à competição formal nas categorias de base. Em suma, conhecer os fatores norteadores do Efeito da Idade Relativa é fundamental para saber lidar com atletas que apresentam desvantagens por terem nascido em uma data desfavorável com relação à data de corte da sua modalidade.

The differences in chronological age among the same age group are called relative age and their consequences are called of Relative Ag e Effect. It is known that the maturation, the competition and the social workers are essential for the Relative Age Effect. The study aimed to analyze the Relative Age Effect’s guiding factors. The biological, technical, tactical, psychological, cognitive and social factors influencedirectly on the existence of the effect. However, without the necessary factor, also named “competition”, the effect might not exist. Thus, it all appears that a possible solution might be related to the formal competition in the youth teams. In short, knowing the guiding factors of the Relative Age Effect is fundamental to know how to deal with athletes who have disadvantages by being born in an unfavorable date in relation their sport cutoff date.
