O jornal-laboratório como exercício da prática e teoria na formação superior em Jornalismo

Abstract

Este artigo discute o conflito entre teoria e prática no contexto da formação superior em Jornalismo no Brasil. Para isso, o estudo relaciona as exigências das Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais às atividades promovidas no jornal-laboratório, capazes de contemplar tais normas. Para elucidar o debate, toma-se como exemplo o jornal-laboratório OutrOlhar, produzido por estudantes do curso de Comunicação Social/Jornalismo da Universidade Federal de Viçosa. A pesquisa mostra que é possível atender às normas do Ministério da Educação e também às demandas do mercado de trabalho por meio de veículos laboratoriais, alternativas eficazes para a formação em Jornalismo.

This article discusses the conflict between theory and practice in the context of higher education in journalism in Brazil. For this, the study relates the requirements of the National Curriculum Guidelines to the activities about laboratory newspaper, capable of accomplishing these standards. To clarify the debate, there is a example of the newspaper called OutrOlhar, which is produced by students of Journalism at the Federal University of Viçosa. The research shows that it is possible to attend the standards of the Ministry of Education and also the demands of the profession using laboratory vehicles, effective alternatives for education in journalism.
