Abstract

Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli, is a serious disease of common beans in many production areas in Brazil, mainly in the irrigated ones. The pathogenicity of the isolate FOP 46, obtained at CNPAF/Embrapa, to 12 cultivars and lines, which have been tested by Epamig and Federal University of Viçosa, was evaluated under greenhouse conditions. Cultivars Pérola and Rosinha were used as resistant and susceptible controls, respectively. Turmalina was susceptible to the pathogen while the lines Vi. 13-8-3, EEP 558, CF 880065, Vi. 12-1-2, Vi. 3-13-1, Vi. 10-2-1, Vi. 16-3-3 and the cultivarsCarnaval and Novirex were resistants.
