Efeitos da biópsia incisional testicular sobre o rendimento intrínseco da espermatogênese e índices de células de sertoli em cães

Abstract

Foram utilizados testículos de seis cães adultos, entre 3 e 7 anos de idade, sem raça definida, mantidos no canil experimental do Departamento de Veterinária da Universidade Federal de Viçosa-MG. Os animais foram submetidos à biópsia unilateral testicular e castrados 60 dias depois. Não foram observadas alterações, no testículo biopsiado ou no testículo contralateral, na população celular no estádio 1 do ciclo do epitélio seminífero, assim como no rendimento intrínseco da espermatogênese e nas relações quantitativas entre células de Sertoli e células da linhagem espermatogênica.

Testicles of six adult dogs between 3 and 7 years of age were used, from animals without defined race which were kept at the experimental kennel of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Federal University of Viçosa, MG. The animals were submitted to a unilateral testicular biopsy and were castrated 60 days later. No alterations were observed, either in the testicle subjected to the biopsy or in the lateral testicle, on the cell population at the stage 1 of the seminiferous epithelium cycle, as well as on the intrinsic yield of spermatogenesis and on the quantitative relationships between Sertoli cells and germ cells.
