Abstract
Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o mercado mundial de café e seu grau de concentração entre 2008 e 2018. O trabalho utilizou os índices: razão de concentração CR(k) e Herfindahl-Hirschman (HHI). Os dados utilizados para o cálculo desses índices foram obtidos através do UNComtrade. Os resultados apontam que os países que compõem o CR(4) foram, na maioria dos anos, Brasil, Vietnã, Alemanha e Índia. Já o CR(8) foi representado pelo Brasil, Vietnã, Índia, Alemanha, Colômbia, China, Indonésia e Suíça. Os resultados encontrados para o CR(4) e para o CR(8) classificam o mercado cafeeiro mundial como pouco concentrado. O valor médio do HHI no período foi aproximadamente 516,02, classificando, novamente, o mercado mundial de café como não concentrado.
This article aims to analyze the world coffee market and its degree of concentration between 2008 and 2018. This study uses the indices: concentration ratio CR(k) and Herfindahl-Hirschman (HHI).
