Abstract
A quantum physics has become increasingly present in the reality of high school students, especially due to its technological applications. In view of this relevance, this study developed a didactic sequence aimed at introducing the concepts of the wave function and quantum tunneling through the articulation of theoretical classes, experimental activities, and the use of analogies. Two experiments were employed in the didactic sequence: one involving the wave function for an electron confined in a box and the other based on the analysis of current-voltage characteristics using a tunnel diode. The proposal is grounded in Vygotsky’s theory, which understands learning as a socially mediated process in which interaction, language, and mediation play a central role in the construction of knowledge. In this context, the didactic sequence was implemented in two third-year high school classes, with the lessons conceived as spaces of mediation. This approach fostered the gradual construction of meaning and the understanding of abstract concepts of quantum mechanics through the articulation between theoretical models and experimental practices. Keywords: physics; physics education; quantum mechanics; Arduino.
