Fontes de crescimento da produção agrícola em Minas Gerais no período de 1980 a 1991

Abstract

Este trabalho procurou identificar as fontes de crescimento da produção agrícola em Minas Gerais, no período de 1980 a 1992. Foram seleciona os para análise os seguintes produtos: algodão, arroz, banana, batata, cana-de-açúcar, feijão, mandioca, milho, soja e tomate. Para cada um deles foi calculada a taxa geométrica de crescimento, bem como mensurados os efeitos área, rendimento e localização geográfica. O trabalho alisa, ainda, esses efeitos para o grupo das 10 culturas. São feitas considerações sobre políticas agrícolas para a promoção desses produtos o Estado.

This paper deals with the identification of sources of development in the agricutural production in the state of Minas Gerais, during the period 1980-199 . The most important state crops were selected: cotton, rice, banana, potato, sugar cane, beans, cassava, corn, soybean and tomate. The geometric development rate and the area, yield, and location effects w re determined for each cr0p. These effects were also analysed for the whole group. Cons derations were made on the need for implementation of an agricultura] policy in order to promote production of these crops in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
