Conselho Municipal do Idoso de Viçosa, MG: um estudo sobre sua criação, estruturação e principais ações

Abstract

Os Conselhos Municipais dos Direitos dos Idosos (CMDI) são espaços que visam a deliberar e definir diretrizes de políticas sociais voltadas para o segmento idoso. Este estudo teve por objetivo identificar como foi estruturado o CMDI em Viçosa, MG, com o intuito de compreender seus objetivos e suas principais discussões e interesses. A coleta de dados deu-se pela observação não participante das reuniões mensais do CMDIV e pelo estudo documental dos arquivos do referido órgão. Os resultados revelaram a dificuldade de manter a participação e a representatividade efetiva dos conselheiros, fato comprovado pela baixa assiduidade dos conselheiros às reuniões mensais, o que torna imprescindível o rearranjo do CMDIV no que diz respeito à sua composição.

The Councils on the Rights of the Elderly (CMDI) are considered spaces for deliberating and defining social policies guidelines for the elderly segment of the population. This study aimed to identify how the CMDI was structured in Viçosa - MG, aiming its objectives and its main discussions and interests. The data collection was the non-participant observation of the monthly meetings of the CMDIV, in addition a documentary study of the archives of the mentioned organ was carried out. The results reveal the difficulty of maintaining the participation and the effective representativeness of the counselors - a fact evidenced by the low attendance of the counselors to the monthly meetings.
