Abstract
Análise de padrões de atividade fornecem informações sobre o comportamento e a ecologia das espécies, contribuindo para a compreensão de como diferentes organismos convivem em um mesmo ambiente. A Mata Atlântica é um dos biomas mais biodiversos do mundo, abrigando uma fauna extremamente diversa, com alta taxa de endemismo, porém gravemente ameaçada, restando menos de 12,4% de sua cobertura original. Nesse contexto, este estudo teve como objetivo estimar a abundância relativa e a composição de espécies de mamíferos terrestres e seus padrões de atividade em um fragmento florestal da Mata Atlântica, estimando também os padrões de sobreposição de atividade dessas espécies. Nesse estudo foram utilizadas dez armadilhas fotográficas, das quais cinco foram instaladas no interior da mata e cinco no aceiro, contando com esforço amostral de 1200 câmeras.dia. Consideramos os registros como independentes quando separados por no mínimo uma hora de intervalo entre eles. Das 15 espécies registradas, foi calculado o padrão de atividade de Canis lupus familiaris, Cuniculus paca, Didelphis aurita, Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Leopardus pardalis e Nasua nasua. De acordo com esse cálculo, pudemos realizar os gráficos de frequência e classificar as espécies como diurnas, noturnas, catemerais e/ou crepusculares. Ademais, os dados mostraram uma sobreposição significativa entre as atividades de algumas dessas espécies. Análises como as discutidas aqui são essenciais para compreender as relações ecológicas, o uso do habitat e as estratégias comportamentais das espécies, além de se fazer possível avaliar a interferência humana sobre esses mesmos fatores, bem como na mudança de seus nichos ecológicos por provável perda de habitat ou escassez de recursos. Entender como as espécies ajustam seus horários de atividade torna-se uma ferramenta importante para a conservação da biodiversidade. Analysis of activity patterns provides information about the behavior and ecology of species, contributing to the understanding of how different organisms coexist within the same environment. The Atlantic Forest is one of the most biodiverse biomes in the world, harboring extremely diverse fauna with a high rate of endemism, however, it is severely threatened, with less than 12.4% of its original cover remaining. In this context, this study aimed to estimate the relative abundance and species composition of terrestrial mammals and their activity patterns in a forest fragment of the Atlantic Forest, also estimating the activity overlap patterns among these species. In this study, ten camera traps were used, five of which were installed inside the forest and five along the firebreak, totaling a sampling effort of 1200 camera-days. Records were considered independent when separated by at least one hour. Of the 15 species recorded, the activity patterns of Canis lupus familiaris, Cuniculus paca, Didelphis aurita, Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Leopardus pardalis, and Nasua nasua were calculated. Based on this analysis, frequency graphs were produced, and the species were classified as diurnal, nocturnal, cathemeral and/or crepuscular. Additionally, the data showed significant overlap in the activity patterns of some of these species. Analyses such as the ones discussed here are essential for understanding ecological relationships, habitat use, and behavioral strategies of species. They also make it possible to assess human interference in these factors, as well as shifts in ecological niches due to probable habitat loss or resource scarcity. Understanding how species adjust their activity schedules becomes an important tool for biodiversity conservation.
