Abstract
Este trabalho foi realizado com a finalidade de se determinar os valores de referência para as provas de função rumenal em bovinos e ovinos em pastagem. Foram utilizados 5 bovinos e 5 ovinos, clinicamente sadios, mestiços, adultos, criados em regime extensivo de pastagem. O líquido rumenal foi colhido através de uma sonda esofágica adaptada a uma bomba de sucção. Os parâmetros avaliados (cor, odor, consistência, pH, redução de metileno, motilidade, densidade e contagem dos protozoários, assim como o tipo de bactéria) foram considerados normais, estando de acordo com a literatura.
This investigation was carried out to determine the reference value of the ruminal function in five cattie and five sheep. Cross-bred healthy adult field animals were used. The ruminal fluid was obtained with the aid of an esophagic tube attached to a suction pump. The parameters evaluated such as color, smell, consistency, pH, methylen blue reduction, protozoal and bacterial contents and activity were considered normal according to the literature.
