tratamentos, e as demais avaliações apresentaram médias estatisticamente
This research was carried out under laboratory and greenhouse conditions in order to observe the influence of both environments on the rooting and acclimation of micropropagated papaya shoots (Carica papaya L.). The shoots were cultured for 5 days in vitro , in nutrient agar containing 0.2 mg/l IBA and then divided into three groups: one of them remained in the same medium; the second group was transferred to new nutrient agar without growth regulators; and a third group was transferred to the greenhouse, in containers with vermiculite. Thirty four days later all groups showed about 50% rooting. The shoots rooted under greenhouse conditions showed 100% survival and the best performance in length of shoots, number and length of roots and length of leaves.
