Abstract
The aim of this paper was to characterize the stages of the epithelium seminiferous cycle for the tubular morphology method and to determine the differentiated spermatogonia generations number in adult collared peccaries. Eight adult animals were used. Fragments of testis were embedded in plastic resin for microscopic analyses. The germinative cells nuclear diameters and Sertoli cell nucleolar diameters and their respective population were evaluated. Epithelium seminiferous stages were also characterized. In conclusion, this study found six differentiated spermatogonia generations in collared peccaries and that eight epithelium seminiferous cycle stages were very similar to related in swine.
