Resumo
A ocorrência de Campylobacter foi avaliada no ambiente de criação de frango de corte. Observou-se que a cama antes e após o alojamento das aves, os bebedouros, as cloacas das aves e os diferentes tipos de rações estavam contaminados com o microrganismo. Pela avaliação dos resultados experimentais e pela avaliação ambiental mediante questionário apresentado ao produtor, pode-se concluir que a contaminação ocorre, principalmente, devido à adoção de padrões higiênico-sanitários deficientes nas diferentes fases de criação. Portanto, nas circunstâncias atuais a aplicação de boas práticas agropecuárias pode minimizar o problema de infecções por Campylobacter nos consumidores.
Campylobacter was evaluated in broiler farms. The litter - before and after arrival of the new batch of chickens - drinking nipples, bird cloacae and different types of feed were found contaminated by the microorganism. According to experimental results and environmental evaluations using the producer’s answers to a questionnaire, it was possible to conclude that the contamination occurs mainly because of deficient hygienic-sanitary standards in different rearing periods. Thus, the problem of human infection by Campylobacter can be reduced using good agricultural practices as a way to guarantee safe products to consumers.
