Abstract

Specifically, sought to identify how socioeconomics variables, family background and academic informations influence this performance. The results showed that the statistically significant characteristics to determine the academic performance were: age; number of failures; average of credits per period and gender. Regarding the area of knowledge it was concluded that there are differences between the academic performance of students from different areas of knowledge, although it was not the object of study to explain these differences.
