Abstract
As recentes conquistas alcançadas pela comunidade surda do Brasil, como o reconhecimento da Língua Brasileira de Sinais – LIBRAS, trouxeram à tona discussões acerca da necessidade
de ações promotoras de uso e divulgação da língua. O propósito do presente artigo é discutir o ensino de LIBRAS como segunda língua ou língua estrangeira para crianças, levando em consideração as características específicas dessa faixa etária e salientando a importância de aspectos relativos ao uso de recursos lúdicos como o brincar e o jogar, no processo de ensino-aprendizagem de LIBRAS para crianças.
Recent achievements by the deaf community in Brazil, as the recognition of the Brazilian Sign Language – LIBRAS – brought discussions about the need for actions that promote the use and the publicity of the language. The purpose of this article is to discuss the teaching of LIBRAS as second or foreign language for children, taking into consideration the specific characteristics of this target group and pointing out the importance of features related to the use of recreational resources as playing and gaming, in the teaching-learning process of LIBRAS to children.
