Geração veterano ou tradicional e geração baby boomers: refletindo sobre a relação entre o envelhecimento e as tecnologias digitais

Abstract

Investigar os aspectos que contribuem e/ou inibem a tendência de uso e/ou não uso das tecnologias digitais -TD’s na vida cotidiana da pessoa idosa. A pesquisa de abordagem quantitativa foi realizada em Viçosa-MG junto a 68 pessoas idosas, entretanto os resultados se fundaram apenas entre os entrevistados que utilizavam as TD’s. As informações foram reunidas e organizadas de forma exploratória, conforme os pressupostos da análise de conteúdo, utilizando os softwares IRAMUTEQ e SPSS. O contato dos idosos com as TD ́s aconteceu na vida adulta, sendo que houve um aumento no uso, ainda que com certas dificuldades. A maioria dos pesquisados possuem uma visão positiva acerca dos benefícios trazidos pela inserção das TD’s em seu cotidiano. Porém, alguns também, deixaram explícito que apesar do reconhecimento dos benefícios, ainda preferem uma comunicação mais calorosa em seu cotidiano, como uma interação face a face. Dentre as ferramentas tecnológicas mais utilizadas destacou-se, o smartphone. Conclui-se que saber usar estas tecnologias pode contribuir para uma melhora na autonomia e bem estar destes sujeitos.Investigate the aspects that contribute and/or inhibit the tendency to use and / or not use digital technologies -TD's in the daily life of the elderly. The research with a quantitative approach was carried out in Viçosa-MG with 68 elderly people, however the results were based only among the interviewees who used TD's. The information was gathered and organized in an exploratory way, according to the assumptions of the content analysis, using the software IRAMUTEQ and SPSS. The contact of the elderly with DTs occurred in adulthood, and there was an increase in use, although with certain difficulties. Most respondents have a positive view of the benefits brought by the insertion of TD's in their daily lives. However, some also made it clear that despite the recognition of the benefits, they still prefer a warmer communication in their daily lives, such as face-to-face interaction. Among the most used technological tools, the smartphone stood out. Itis concluded that knowing how to use these technologies can contribute to an improvement in the autonomy and well-being of these subjects.
