Abstract

This dissertation analyzes the insertion of Black women with children in early childhood into the formal labor market of the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte (RMBH), in the years 2019 and 2022. It assumes that the inequalities running through the labor trajectories of this group are not residual phenomena, but structural expressions of the articulation between structural racism, the sexual and racial division of labor, and the superexploitation characteristic of Brazilian dependent capitalism. The study, of a qualitative-quantitative nature and of the descriptive- analytical-critical type, is grounded in bibliographic and documentary research and in the treatment of microdata from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD Contínua), referring to the fourth quarter of 2019 and 2022, extracted and filtered through the STATA software and organized in Microsoft Excel for descriptive statistical analysis. The theoretical framework mobilizes the contributions of Almeida, Bento, and Gonzalez on structural racism; of Hirata and Kergoat, Cisne, and Saffioti on the sexual division of labor; and of Marini, Bambirra, and Antunes on dependency and the superexploitation of the labor force. The results show that, although a rise in schooling among Black women is observed during the period, this advance does not translate into better occupational positions or higher incomes. On the contrary, there is a deepening of wage precarization, a concentration in full-time work schedules without corresponding valorization of labor, an occupational reordering toward precarious sectors such as lodging, food services, and construction, and a sharp drop in children's attendance at early childhood education in the post-pandemic context. It is concluded that motherhood, by articulating itself with structural racism and the sexual division of labor, operates as a factor of intensified economic vulnerability, confirming the need for public policies that simultaneously address the dimensions of gender, race, and class. Keywords: Black women; Formal labor market; Motherhood; Structural racismo; Sexual and racial division of labor.
