A origem e o fim do mundo: análise discursiva de textos de divulgação científica na Superinteressante

Abstract

Esse trabalho se propôs a investigar o tratamento linguístico-discursivo conferido às informações sobre a origem e o fim do mundo nas reportagens publicadas na revista Superinteressante, edição especial de novembro de 2012, durante a polêmica suscitada em função do calendário maia, considerando a linha editorial da mídia em questão. Para isso, contextualizou, a partir dos pressupostos da Teoria Semiolinguística, a situação de comunicação dos textos analisados. Ademais, descreveu e analisou como ocorre o processo de recontextualização da informação científica em informação divulgativa por meio dos procedimentos linguístico-discursivos de expansão, redução e variação e das estratégias divulgativas. A fim de alcançar o objetivo geral pretendido, as seguintes etapas foram desenvolvidas: contextualização da pesquisa; discussão acerca da origem e do fim do mundo, ressaltando a abordagem do fim do mundo maia; exposição dos principais pressupostos da Teoria Semiolinguística (CHARAUDEAU, 2009, 2012) e da Análise do Discurso de Divulgação Científica (CALSAMIGLIA, 1997; CATALDI, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2011; CIAPUSCIO, 1997; VAN DIJK, 2011); descrição da revista Superinteressante; discussão sobre o discurso de divulgação científica na perspectiva da Semiolinguística e análise pautada na identificação dos procedimentos linguístico-discursivos e das estratégias divulgativas presentes nas reportagens analisadas. Ao final da análise, chegou-se à conclusão de que a situação de comunicação é norteadora dos discursos veiculados nas reportagens. Verificou -se que foram utilizadas estratégias divulgativas voltadas para um público leitor jovem, assim como uma linguagem informal a fim de interagir com esse público. Percebeu -se que a revista informa e, como estratégia de captação, deixa o leitor preocupado e curioso. O procedimento linguístico-discursivo mais recorrente nas reportagens foi a expansão e a estratégia divulgativa mais utilizada foi a explicação. Dessa forma, os textos divulgativos sobre a temática em questão publicados nessa edição especial da Superinteressante são mais explicativos do que conceituais.

In this study, we looked at the linguistic and discursive treatments given to the questions of creation and end of the world in the reports published in the popular science magazine Superinteressante, issued November 2012, at the height of the polemics surrounding the Mayan calendar. We began with considerations on the magazine‟s editorial line and contextualizion of the communicative situation of each text based on the Theory of Semiolinguistics. We then described and analyzed the process of recontextualization of the scientific information by means of the linguistic-discursive strategies of expansion, reduction and variation, along with publishing strategies. This study was structured as follows: contextualization of the study; discussion on the subject of creation and end of the world, especially the Mayan perspective on the end of the world; presentation of the framework of Semiolinguistics (CHARAUDEAU, 2009, 2012) and Discourse Analysis in Popular Science (CALSAMIGLIA, 1997; CATALDI, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2011; CIAPUSCIO, 1997; VAN DIJK, 2011); description of the Superinteressante magazine; discussion on popular science from the perspective of Semiolinguistics; and analysis drawn from the identification of linguistic-discursive and publishing strategies. We concludente that the communicative situation leads the discourse in the reports and observed that publishing strategies as well as informal language were used to address and interact with young readers. We also observed that the magazine informs and hooks its readers by letting them concerned and curious. The linguistic-discursive strategy most used was the expansion. Likewise, the publishing strategy most frequent was the explanation. In this way, the scientific literature concerning the subject of creation and end of the world published in that special issue of Superinteressante has shown to be more explanatory than conceptual.
