Existem montanhas em Minas Gerais?

Abstract

Alguns livros didáticos se referem ao Brasil como um país onde não existem montanhas. Como este conceito é rapidamente reproduzido, por diversos professores de Geografia no ensino básico, algumas revisões bibliográficas foram feitas para se definir o que realmente seja montanha e para comprovar a existência de montanhas em Minas Gerais, refletindo, ao mesmo tempo, sobre a necessidade da formação de docentes pesquisadores comprometidos com a prática escolar mediada pela investigação científica.Some text books refer to Brazil as a country where mountains don't exist. As this concept is quickly reproduced by several teachers of Geography in the medium teaching, some bibliographical revisions were made to define what is really mountain and to prove the existence of mountains in Minas Gerais, contemplating, at the same time, about the need of the committed teachers' formation with the research.
