A field performance test was conducted for characterization of 23 Catimor progenies in Martins Scares, Minas Gerais, Brazil, using a lattice design with six replications and four plants per plot. Two progenies of Catuai Vermelho cultivar were used as standards. Twenty-four characteiristics were measured and a high variation among the Catimor progenies was observed. Eleven Catimor lines and both Catuai treatments were clustered into a high yield group. These high yielding lines had an average sieve between 16.9 and 18.1 (average 17.4), empty seeds occurrence between 14.7 and 34.8% (average 22.9%), canopy width between 1.23 and 1.79 m (average 1.42 m) and canopy height between 1.45 and 2.03 m (average 1.62 m). The progenies were separated into two different ripening time groups.
