Starting from the assumption that society is undergoing changes, especially on gender relations and work, this study sought to examine whether there are disparities in the context of income and level of education between men and women in the state of São Paulo. To this end, we used data from the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) of 2011. For this we used an exploratory data analysis and ANOVA, Tukey's test, F test, and Student's t test. It was observed that there are gender differences in regards to be educated, that is, women had more years of education compared to men, comprising a greater number of places in undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees. It was found that there are wage differences between genders, and the income of men was higher than women in most levels of education.
