Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify whether there is significant influence in exchange of tourism flows, because of the proximity of the States of origin and destination, among the States of the South and Southeast. Therefore, we used the Gravitational Model applied to tourism, method that considers the tourist flows in dependence on attractive variables, such as GDP States emitters and receivers, and repulsive, as the distances between the States. The results have proved the importance of the variable distance as a strong barrier factor against the domestic tourism and, consequently, reaffirmed the inductive initial idea that the proximity has strong influence among trade flows.
