Isolamento e seleção massal de actinomicetos antagônicos a Agrobacterium tumefaciens

De amostras de solo, coletadas em diferentes locais, procedeu-se ao isolamento, em meio extrato de solo-ágar, de 321 culturas de actinomicetos, Todos foram individualmente testados para verificar a atividade de antibiose “in vim)” contra Agrobacterium tumefaciens e a eficiência em proteger folhas destacadas de Kalanchoe tubiflora contra o patógeno. Combinando-se os resultados destes dois testes, foi possível selecionar 33 actinomicetos come potenciais antagonistas. A repetição dos teste I"in vitro” e “in viva" permitiu estreitar o número de isolamentos de antagonistas promissores para 14, e esses estão sendo testados, em casa de vegetação, para o controle biológico da galha bacteriana da roseira (A. tumefaciens).
A population of 321 actinomycete isolates was obtained from soil samples taken from different places, by using soil extract-agar medium for isolation. Every isolate was tested for its ability to inhibit Agrobacterium tumefaciens growth “in vitro” and for their efficiency to protect detached leaves of Kalanchoe tubifloras against the pathogen. Based on these trials, 33 actinomycete isolates were pie-selected as potentials antagonists. The repetition of both tests allowed to mow down to 14 the number of selected isolates, that are being tested for the experimental biological control of rose crown gall (A. tumefaciens) under greenhouse conditions.
