Potencialidades do texto literário nas aulas de português língua estrangeira

Abstract

Esta dissertação investiga o potencial do uso de textos literários no ensino de Português como Língua Estrangeira (PLE) na Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). Fundamentada na Teoria da Recepção e nas propostas de Wolfgang Iser (1978) e Hans Robert Jauss (1979), a pesquisa analisa como textos literários de diferentes gêneros, como poemas e crônicas—entendidos como material autêntico—podem contribuir para o desenvolvimento linguístico, intercultural e comunicativo de estudantes estrangeiros. Adotando uma abordagem interdisciplinar, o estudo articula teoria literária, linguística aplicada e ensino de línguas, com o objetivo de elaborar atividades didáticas inovadoras que explorem as potencialidades da literatura em sala de aula. Os resultados indicam que a inserção de textos literários no ensino de PLE amplia a compreensão da língua e da cultura brasileiras, promovendo uma aprendizagem mais significativa e incentivando a troca cultural no contexto acadêmico. Grounded in Reception Theory and the proposals of Wolfgang Iser (1978) and Hans Robert Jauss (1979), the research analyzes how literary texts from different genres, such as poems and chronicles—understood as authentic material—can contribute to the linguistic, intercultural, and communicative development of foreign students. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the study integrates literary theory, applied linguistics, and language teaching to develop innovative didactic activities that explore the potential of literature in the classroom. The results indicate that incorporating literary texts into PFL teaching enhances students' understanding of the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture, promoting more meaningful learning and encouraging cultural exchange in the academic context.
