Abstract
O presente trabalho 1 busca analisar a função intelectual do Banco Mundial (BM) como produtor e fomentador de conhecimentos diante das mudanças sociais econômicas, políticas e culturais do final do século XX e início do século XXI. As análises estão fundamentadas em fontes de documentos
oficiais, nacionais e internacionais e em bibliografias especializadas. Enfocamos os discursos da agência BM sobre o conhecimento, suas concepções e finalidades diante do quadro de reformas educacionais buscando analisar quais os
conhecimentos orientados nesse campo. Nessa direção, procuramos mostrar que o BM articula-se como intelectual coletivo, agência de pensamento dos países centrais, produzindo e fortalecendo ações que coadunem com os interesses corporativos dos estados nações no campo educacional.
This paper analyzes the intellectual function of the World Bank as a producer and developer of knowledge on social changes and economic and cultural policies of the late twentieth and early twenty-first. Analyses are based on sources from official documents, national and international and specialized bibliographies. Focused on the agency’s speeches on the World Bank knowledge, his views and purposes on the part of educational reforms aiming at examining the knowledge-oriented in that field. In this direction we tryto show that the World Bank is structured as an intellectual collective agency thought the core countries, producing and reinforcing actions that fit with the corporate interests of the member nations in the educational field.
