Efficient grazing systems are essential for maximizing animal production, and the use of pastures from the Brachiaria genus has represented a significant milestone for national livestock farming. Commercial sensors, such as GreenSeeker, are widely used in crop management, while new technologies, such as the low-cost multispectral sensor ReflecSense, still require validation in different crops. This study aimed to compare the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) values obtained by the GreenSeeker and ReflecSense sensors in the cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens. The correlation between NDVI values obtained by the sensors and the productivity of Brachiaria decumbens was also evaluated. The experiment was conducted at the Federal University of Viçosa, using a randomized block design with four blocks and five plots each. The treatments consisted of different nitrogen doses: a control with no fertilization, a reference with 150 kg/ha of nitrogen, and three plots with variable-rate nitrogen application. NDVI was measured at two points in each experimental cycle, when the plants reached an average height of 15 cm and 20 cm. Productivity was determined by dry mass (kg/ha) at the end of each cycle. The average NDVI values ranged from 0.46 to 0.67 (GreenSeeker) and from 0.63 to 0.79 (ReflecSense) in the first cycle, from 0.50 to 0.78 (GreenSeeker) and from 0.69 to 0.88 (ReflecSense) in the second cycle, and from 0.54 to 0.85 (GreenSeeker) and from 0.70 to 0.88 (ReflecSense) in the third cycle. The Wilcoxon test indicated significant differences between the sensors in all cycles (p < 0.05). The correlation between NDVI and productivity was strong for GreenSeeker in the first cycle (ρ = 0.64) and moderate in the remaining cycles (ρ ranging from 0.48 to 0.51). For ReflecSense, the correlation was moderate in all cycles (ρ ranging from 0.51 to 0.59). It is concluded that, although ReflecSense presents differences in NDVI values compared to GreenSeeker, both sensors demonstrate potential for pasture monitoring. Further studies are recommended to evaluate the applicability of ReflecSense in other vegetation indices. Keywords: GreenSeeker; ReflecSense; Pasture; NDVI.
