Ruellia L. (Acanthaceae) no Estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil

Abstract

Ruellia L. é o segundo maior gênero da família Acanthaceae, possuindo cerca de 300 espécies e, na America do Sul aproximadamente 100. O Brasil possui cerca de 82 espécies sendo 49 endêmicas. Em Minas Gerais, até o momento, foram citadas 24 espécies. Este trabalho apresenta o estudo taxonômico de Ruellia L. para Minas Gerais, baseando-se em análises de coleções dos seguintes herbários: BHCB, BHZB, CESJ, ESAL, GFJP, HRCB, HUEFS, HUEMG, HUFU, HXBH, OUPR, PAMG, PMG, RB, SP, SPF, UB e UEC. Foram encontradas para o Estado 22 espécies: Ruellia asperula (Mart. ex Nees) Lindau, R. brevicaulis (Nees) Lindau, R. brevifolia (Pohl) C. Ezcurra, R. bulbifera Lindau, R. costata Lindau, R. dissitifolia (Nees) Hier, R. elegans Poir, R. erythropus (Nees) Lindau, R. geminiflora Kunth., R. incompta (Nees) Lindau, R. inundata HBK, R. jussieuoides (Mart ex Nees) Lindau, R. macrantha Lindau, R. makoyana Hort. Makoy ex Closon, R. menthoides (Nees) Hiern., R. multifolia (Nees) Lindau, R. rasa Hiern, R. solitária Vell., R. subsessilis Lindau, R. villosa (Pohl ex Nees) Lindau, R. viscidula (Mart. ex Nees) Lindau. Neste trabalho são apresentados descrições, chaves para identificação, ilustrações das espécies, comentários sobre a morfologia e taxonomia de Ruellia L., ocorrente no Estado de Minas Gerais, e o padrão de distribuição das espécies. Este trabalho propõe a sinonimização de R. densa e R. rubiginosa em R. villosa, e que a espécie seja tratada como Complexo R. villosa . A distribuição de R. multifolia e R. nitens foi ampliada para Minas Gerais; os padrões de distribuição Neotropical, Brasil Centro-Oriental e América do Sul Centro-Sul descataram-se pelo maior número de espécies, possuindo quatro os dois primeiros e três o terceiro. No Estado de Minas Gerais o Cerrado concentrou exclusivamente 31,8% das espécies, a Floresta Atlântica 27,3% e a Caatinga 9,1%; 18% das espécies ocupam os três biomas e 13,6% ocupam Cerrado e Floresta Atlântica.

Ruellia L. is the second largest genus in the family Acanthaceae, comprising around 300 species. About 100 species are native to South America and Brazil has nearly 82 species, including 49 which are endemic. In Minas Gerais, 24 species have been described to date. This study presents the taxonomic survey of Ruellia L. in Minas Gerais, based on the examination of collections of the following herbaria: BHCB, BHZB, CESJ, ESAL, GFJP, HRCB, HUEFS, HUEMG, HUFU, HXBH, OUPR, PAMG, PMG, RB, SP, SPF, UB and UEC. Twenty-two species were described for the state: Ruellia asperula (Mart. ex Nees) Lindau, R. brevicaulis (Nees) Lindau, R. brevifolia (Pohl) C. Ezcurra, R. bulbifera Lindau, R. costata Lindau, R. dissitifolia (Nees) Hier, R. elegans Poir, R. erythropus (Nees) Lindau, R. geminiflora Kunth. R. incomta (Nees) Lindau, R. inundata HBK, R. jussieuoides (Mart exNees) Lindau, R. macrantha Lindau, R. makoyana Hort. Makoy ex Closon, R. menthoides (Nees) Hiern., R. multifolia (Nees) Lindau, R. rasa Hiern, R. solitaria Vell., R. subsessilis Lindau, R. villosa (Pohl ex Nees) Lindau, R. viscidula (Mart. ex Nees) Lindau. This study presents descriptions, identification keys, species illustrations, comments on the morphology and taxonomy of Ruellia L. occurring in the State of Minas Gerais and the distribution pattern of the species. It is also proposed the synonymization of R. densa and R. rubiginosa into R. villosa and that the species be treated as "Complex R. villosa". The distribution of R. multifolia and R. nitens was extended to Minas Gerais; the distribution patterns Neotropical, East-Central Brazil and South-Central South America showed the largest number of species; the first two having four and the third having three species. In the state of Minas Gerais, the Cerrado comprised exclusively 31.8% of the species, the Atlantic Forest 27.3% and the Caatinga 9.1%. Eighteen percent of the species occupy the three biomes and 13.6% occupy the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.
