Glyphosate is the most widely used herbicide in weed management in commercial eucalypt plantations. Nevertheless, there are frequent reports of damage caused by this herbicide on this crop. Thus, it becomes necessary to seek alternatives that reduce or eliminate such damage. One option for this is the use of antidotes in herbicide applications. The antidotes have been objects of study for different cultures, however, for forest crops such as eucalypt, this is still not a reality. Among the possibilities of antidotes with eucalypt protection capabilities identified the Fertiactyl Pós. It is a foliar fertilizer with capacity to act on the physiological activity of plants maintaining its ability to produce photoassimilates even under the effect of glyphosate. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate of the Fertiactyl Pós efficiency in eucalypt plant protection affected by different forms of contact with glyphosate. Four experiments were conducted in a greenhouse, in order to evaluate the protective effect of Fertiactyl Pós in eucalypt plants affected by root exudation of glyphosate by Urochloa brizantha; the Fertiactyl Pós efficiency in eucalypt protection affected by glyphosate; the protective effect of Fertiactyl Pós on eucalypt plants submitted the application of glyphosate and the protective effect in eucalypt plants and control of U. brizantha treated with glyphosate mixed with Fertiactyl Pós. In experiment 1, it was clear that if there was exudation of glyphosate by brachiaria, it was not harmful to eucalypt. In the treatments without herbicide application, there was interference brachiaria thus the observed differences in eucalypt characteristics were caused by competition imposed by this weed. In experiment 2, it was observed that the use of larger doses of glyphosate (1440 and 2160 g ha-1) without Fertiactyl Pós caused levels in excess of 90% in some plants evaluation times. When applied 2160 g ha-1 glyphosate mixed with 8 L ha-1 was obtained Fertiactyl Pós estimated dry weight total of 112.5 g plant-1 eucalypt, since the same dose of glyphosate without the protective resulted in estimate of 3.7 g plant-1, showing that Fertiactyl Pós was effective in reducing the damage caused by glyphosate. In experiment 3, the use of Fertiactyl Pós eliminated the visual symptoms of intoxication in eucalypt plants affected by glyphosate, even at the highest dose applied. The use of glyphosate alone caused disturbances in growth, nutrition and physiology eucalypt, confirming its deleterious effect on the crop. In this work, it was clear also that at high doses, Fertiactyl Pós was detrimental to eucalypt, causing slower growth and nutritional imbalance in plants. In the experiment 4, again evidenced the protective effect of Fertiactyl Pós on eucalypt plants affected by glyphosate. However, a protective signal was observed also in brachiaria. The high doses of glyphosate applied increased the level control of brachiaria, but also increased the damage caused by the herbicide on the eucalypt, and the use of Fertiactyl Pós tended to reduce such damage. The results of this research show that the Fertiactyl Pós has the potential to protect the eucalypt from damage caused by glyphosate, but there are still some questions that must be answered before the large scale use of this technology.
